August 3, 2005 11:13 - Create Coolers For Summer Baby Showers
Throw baby showers in the hot summer day is quite challenging. Relax... I just finished a complete new article about how to twist Hawaiian Luau ideas for baby showers.. To cool down you quickly, here are some coolest tips to create coolers from Better Homes and Gardens. Just use these simpliest, freshest and juiciest ideas and let the ingredients speak for themselves!
1. Use fresh-squeezed juices whenever possible. 2. Use the ripest, most aromatic fresh fruits. 3. Use superfine sugar in your recipes whenever possible. 4. Buy small green limes from Mexico rather than common American grocery store limes. 5. Use the best ice for the job. 6. Place empty glasses briefly in the freezer or refrigerator before using them. 7. Rub the glass rims with lime or lemon and dip itinto a saucer filled with salt or sugar. 8. Add wheat germ, brewer' yeast or yogurt to turn smoothies into power drinks. 9. Create a cocktail by adding a jigger of your favorite alcohol, such as rum, vodka or gin, to any cooler. ( Instead of alcohol, use alcohol-free sparkling white wine or white grape juice for baby shower drinks) You can also check out the reprint version on MSN for better reading experiences. Have fun!

August 13, 2005 10:51 - Turn your baby shower into a home Duckfest
The biggest, baddest and duckiest party for rubber duck collectors will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2005 in Irvine, California. People are flying all th way across US and from other countries to the Duckfest 2005.I do have some ducky stuff in my home but I'm not a rubber ducky collector. Uh, there is a long progression of stages from novice to advanced if you want to be a qualified duck collector. And once you get into it, you will be in a sort of insanity, such as mass acquisitions, overspending, aggressive duck hunting, and constant requests for information from other, more experienced, collectors. However, rubber ducky baby shower is an absolutely wonderful family-wide festival to celebrate the arrival little one. From invitatoin, shower decorations to cake, playing games like Bobbing For Duckies and Baby Bath Towel Guestbook, everyone will be in a huge rubber ducky and bath bubble place to enjoy hours of ooh-and-aah. And who knows? Maybe some of the guests will be "Quacked-up" after this baby shower for family and become rubber ducky collectors!

Winter time is still far from now, but someone sent me an email asking about some luau theme baby shower ideas for some time in December. Here's some tips to start a tropical party in winter time...Since you can't go to the beach in December, chose to have it indoors. And write your baby shower invitations like this: "If you're tired of the snow and cold weather escape south of the border for a little get-together. Trade in your heavy coat and other winter clothes for sunshine, palm trees, and sand between your toes! Come to the Baby Shower in Paradise! on Saturday, December 12th at 12:00 p.m. (Parents-to-be's Name) Beach, (Shower Address) Speak out hawaiian baby name meaning and dress code to RSVP!"Then read my article about the coolest hawaiian luau ideas for baby showers, you will find decorations, cake ideas and baby shower games all perfectly fit into a hawaiian luau theme. Hint: For baby shower favors, any small bath products like bath salts, aromatherapy body lotions, bath oils work perfectly. Or even give various tea, mint or tea light candles will all make the winter months fly by. Another luau party idea is giving guests your homemade sand candle favors. Have fun!

August 27, 2005 09:56 - Teddy Bear and Baby Shower
People have strange obsessions.Some collect troll dolls. Others are insatiable pack rats for unopened action figures. A more mainstream person might acquire plush stuffed animals. Though Teddy Bear is part of my childhood and everyone loves it, I still feel surprise (maybe you won't) after reading this article on Cleveland Jewish News about Toronto artist Ydessa Hendeles who collect pictures of people with Teddy Bears. She doesn't find it odd that she spent more than ten years trolling the Internet and various photo archives for more than 3,000 sepia-toned pictures of people and their stuffed companions. It's all part of her art exhibit "Partners: The Teddy Bear Project," documented in a 2004 film by Agnes Varda called "Ydessa, the Bears, and Etc." You might not be able to create an art project, but you can use these lovely stuffed animals to recall your childhood enchantment and creat a beary special teddy bear baby shower - it's all about picnic and fun! And here are some ideas to make a Teddy Bear Bread adapted from "Family Fun Cookbook" (The Walt Disney Co., 1996). It will cost you 175 Minutes: 1 hour to make, 11/2 hours to rise, 25 minutes to bake Ingredients: * 2 cups warm (not hot) water
* 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
* 1 tablespoon sugar
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 5 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
* Cooking spray
* 4 chocolate chips or raisins
* 1 egg, slightly beaten
* 1 tablespoon water Wash hands. Heat oven to 400 degrees. In a large bowl, whisk together yeast and water, and then whisk in sugar. Next, stir in 2 cups of the flour and wait (5-10 minutes) to make sure there are bubbles forming and popping on the surface of the mixture, which means the yeast is working. Then add the salt and all the remaining flour and stir. Turn dough onto a lightly floured countertop and knead (folding the bread over on itself and pressing down firmly) for about 10 minutes. Shape into a ball and put in a large, clean bowl coated with cooking spray. Spray wax paper with the cooking spray and place it over the ball of dough. Put the bowl of dough in the oven, but make sure the oven is off! Let the dough rise about an hour, more if it looks like it hasn't doubled in size. When you remove the dough, punch it down, and then split the dough into halves. Use each half to make one teddy bear. For each bear, mold about 62/37 of the dough into a ball. That will be the body. Use a little less than 61/37 for the head. Use seven small balls to form the ears, nose, hands and feet. Press chocolate chips or raisins into the face for eyes. Put the shapes on a greased cookie sheet and let rise another 30 minutes. Combine the egg and water to make an egg wash and "paint" this mixture over the dough with a clean paintbrush or pastry brush. Bake the bread for 25 minutes, until it is golden brown. Serve with honey butter(combine 1/2 cup softened butter with 2 tablespoons honey and 2 tablespoons light brown sugar). Yields 2 loaf-size teddy bears; 8 slices each. August 29, 2005 07:44 - Coolest Baby Shower Ideas with Halloween Theme
If you plan to have an absolutely crazy Halloween party this year, be careful!A report from Channel 3000 said that the city of Madison is considering using snow fencing to keep Downtown Halloween partiers under control. Last year, violence erupted after bar time in the 500 and 600 blocks of State Street. But, a city committee planning this year's event wants to use snow fencing to block the Frances Street entrances to the 500 block of State Street "so that if we observe that one particular block is getting too crowded, the crowd isn't moving," said Mayor Dave Cieslewicz. "We can temporarily limit access to the street at that point until the crowd clears up." I agree with the viewpoint of this article: "Holidays are out of control". Don't you see that we have way too many holidays in this country, and some of them fall wide of the mark as far as how we should actually celebrate. So, maybe the most "nice" spooky celebration in this fall is a baby shower with halloween theme. No horrible activities. Only lots of unique laughter and fond memories for year to come. Thanks for the arrival little one: we could have a chance to get family and friends together for a "nice" halloween - without worry about the "out-of-control" problems.
