Adopting Family’s Baby Shower

Our Children are adopting from Vietnam. Can you help us with ideas and food for a surprise “Vietnam theme” baby shower? We do not know as of yet which gender they are receiving.

What a wonderful time for your family! The two staples in Vietnam are rice and noodles. Generally the meats they eat are beef, pork, and chicken, with some seafood. They also eat plenty of vegetables. They season their foods with spices like lemongrass, coriander, basil and mint. Recipes can be found for particular dishes on the internet. Vietnamese generally wear western clothing, although some wear traditional clothing such as the 4-part dress for women. If a costume rental is nearby that may be an option. Also you may find a Vietnamese dictionary and write some sayings or a card in that language. Flag colors are red and yellow if you want to use those colors for decorations.
