My husband and I do not want to know the baby?s gender until he/she is born; therefore instead of having a baby shower we would like to have a welcome home party to receive the gifts that you would normally receive during a baby shower. I would like to receive suggestions and any other available information that might be helpful in how to go about planning it and things to do if any, such s games and activities, or is it more appropriate to just let it be a gathering with food and picture taking.

A baby shower is a celebration of a new life. Your shower will be extra special with the new baby in attendance. There is no reason not to enjoy a traditional baby shower with games, food, gifts, and activities. Whether the shower is held before or after, you are only limited by your imagination.

The games and activities, time of day, and food will depend on whether you have a girls-only shower or a couple?s shower. One game you may consider is having the guests guess the baby?s weight and length (on the day of the shower). The winner is determined that day by weighing and measuring the baby. (Simply weigh yourself first and then again while holding the baby.)
