Below you will find our judges that we invited to help us. We asked high profile people in party & baby shower industry to be our judges.
Why?
Because we can make sure that our contest is a fair game if we use outside judges. Also we'll line up a handful of judges and then tally their results. This way, the pressure isn't on one judge. Since we have set the guidelines in the contest and already let the judges knew what those guidelines are when they pick the winners.
Picking winners could be a lot of work for judges if we have hundreds of entries so we decided to pick our top 20 and then have our judges pick winners from those twenty.
Judge Jolyn Saramaga is the creative director and party planner of DIY Party Designs - an online store featuring fun party printables you can make at home for birthdays, bridal & baby showers, weddings, baptisms and more.
Judge Heather Dalton is a graphic designer and the owner of Chickabug, LLC, a custom paper goods and party printables shop. She shares party ideas and free printables at chickabug.com/blog.
Judge Jacqulin Phillips, owner of The Little Nook { thelittlenook.net } in Atlanta, Georgia, a unique "creative haven for children" - a magical space for play, art and Birthday Celebrations. Judge Tanya Collier is the co-founder of The Candy Tree - the collaboration of two creative, like-minded mums, Aimee & Tanya, who love to celebrate in style! Judge Betsy Pruitt is the founder of Belly Feathers Party Planning & Design. She loves tackling all the intricate details about an event, its atmosphere, and flow. "It is so fulfilling to be able to help my clients pull off charming events about which friends and family can't stop talking," shares Betsy. In addition to running Belly Feathers, Betsy works as a marketing manager focused on event planning, writing, and graphic design in high-tech Huntsville, AL.
Judge Astral De La Mare is the owner of bespoke cupcake company Buttercream Bakery. Buttercream Bakery is not your ordinary cupcake company, each little cupcake they create is a delicious miniature masterpiece. Founded in 2009 Buttercream Bakery in it's short life has established itself as one of the leading custom cupcake creators in the industry, creating highly bespoke cupcakes for events, parties, weddings, fashion shows, product launches and gallery openings. Astral De La Mare is also creator and author of popular baking blog The Art of Being Perfect where you can find Buttercream Bakery updates, recipes, tips, ideas and tutorials.
Judge Tamara Eckles, a third generation entrepreneur, combined her love of writing, baking and connecting dessert business owners to establish her brand and blog, Jem of the South. An accomplished baker, Tamara has quickly become an authority on identifying, sharing and promoting sweet "Jems" with her growing national audience. The marriage of her love of entrepreneurship, writing and baking has led Tamara to positioning Jem of the South as the ultimate resource for the promotion and education of dessert entrepreneurs.
Judge Wendy brings the most "mom" experience to Layla Grayce. A mother to four children, including twin 2 year old girls she understands the needs of busy working moms. With a family of young product testers on hand, she helps us to select the best items for babies and children. Balancing a career and a family life has always been essential to Wendy, and Layla Grayce has allowed her the freedom to be her own boss. Years spent in commercial real estate leasing and negotiation on behalf of well-known national retailers and developers honed her analytical and organizational skills. These were essential when assisting Tiffany with design projects later, and together they share a passion for textiles and compelling design. Her enthusiasm for discovering new artisans for Layla Grayce is infectious. Wendy brings business savvy, her marketing aptitude and the phenomenal juggling ability of a successful working mom to Layla Grayce.
Judge Tiffany is our resident design buff with degrees and education as an interior designer, certified color consultant and a current ASID member (American Society of Interior Designers). She has worked at Sundance Resort designing and updating cottages, and has been the in-house designer for a large construction company, working on both commercial projects and distinguished private residences. Her success has earned her numerous awards and recognition for interior decorating. Tiffany reconnected with her high school sweetheart and is recently married. With her love and knowledge of all types of design and decor, Tiffany is often found assisting customers with decorating suggestions and purchases, as well as training the exceptional Layla Grayce staff in the essentials of great design.
