Baby Shower T-Shirt Design

by Sharon Garon
(Richardson, TX)

My eldest daughter and I had a baby shower game for my youngest daughter this past summer. I held it at a local Italian restaurant in an area just off the main dining room.

After we had a light lunch and a relaxing Bellini (or non alcoholic drink of choice) I handed out colored pencils, drawing markers and paint with brushes to everyone. I used small collapsible plastic watercolor water pots every other person. I passed out small sizes of watercolor paper, and drawing paper to everyone. I had small stencils for those who felt they could not even draw great stick people, and let everyone do their own thing. The object, design a t-shirt for the new arrival.

Everyone had such a great time expressing their ideas that time passed very quickly and we laughed a lot. All pictures were signed and gathered to be used for a transfer design later. Some great pictures were born that day.

Mom got to pick the ones she wanted to use later, but in the meantime guests of all ages had so much fun. Even Chuck Norris's mother, (in her 80's) had fun designing a shirt that day and my daughter is in her early 30's. Of course they both had non-alcoholic drinks! We followed with opening the gifts, Terrimisu, and coffee. Totally different and totally fun.
