Coolest Backyard Baby Shower
by Davii Mandel

This was technically a Welcome Baby shower because the baby is a couple of weeks old but her mom hadn't had a shower when she was expecting. We had almost a hundred guests (!) in the backyard baby shower for a yummy buffet brunch and dessert.
We had various wraps sandwiches, bagels and cream cheese, salads & fruit.
The dessert included assorted pastries, a cake and cupcakes.
Instead of typical soda, we had lemonade, iced tea & an iced coffee bar. Everything was self serve and prepared ahead so it was easy to handle.
Our theme colors were hot pink (tablecloths) and white (napkins, plates and platters).

The weather held (it was supposed to thundershower). It was cloudy but comfortably warm. We had prepared tent canopies in case of rain but didn't need them, thankfully.
We had music playing from a stereo inside the house so it was never too quiet.
We bought silk hydrangeas and glass vases in different sizes and put them all over.
We rented round tables for the guests to sit at, and rectangles for the buffet.
The wraps we offered were the following : Avocado-cilantro with mango salsa, Roasted veges and Chile wraps.

We had a pasta salad, Caesar salad & citrus with red onion Euro salad. We bought our melons a week before so they would be fully ripe for the party. We had watermelon, honeydew, canteloup and pineapple. We cut them into chunks and put each type into an individual serving bowl.

Everyone had a great time whit this baby shower party and we were very proud of the nice job we did!
