Carol's Name That Tune Baby Shower

I actually helped host a "Baby, Baby, Baby...Name That Tune" shower three years ago and used this theme when the"Dreaded Baby Shower Game Time" came.

We had a coed family picnic to mark the event for my sister-in-law and I wanted an activity that would spark the creativity of young and old alike.

I downloaded songs, all with the word "Baby" in the title. I had oldies, nursery songs, love songs etc. And put them all on one CD.

My oldest daughter manned the boom boxand we played "Name That Tune" in our backyard. All it took was a quick hit to the pause button after a few notes. This activity caused a lot of banter, relative rivalry and a goodtime!

At the end, the answers were given and 1st and 2nd prizes (I painted 2 terra cotta bird bathes since it was an outdoor summer garden party) for the most correct answers.

The CD label was personalized for the event and given to the expectant parents as an added memory to the day.

Looking back with hindsight I could have gone with the music theme with all the decorations and game prizes focusing on lullabys and other various music inspired decorations involving welcoming a child into the world.

With this theme really the skys the limit...childrens lullibys, musical notes, childrens musical toys (classic and new)...a lot of personal expression could be put into this theme.
