Mary and Alice's Pamper Mommy Baby Shower

I would call this shower type a "Mommy and Wee-One" shower.

As an expectant and then a new mother I noticed whenever there was a holiday, or birthday, etc, everything I received from my family and friends was always for the baby, which was fine with me at the time.

But later I noticed I began to loose perspective on the importance of keeping up on my own needs in addition to my baby's needs.

When I think about it now, I believe a neat type of baby shower would be a shower where both the new mommy and the new baby are considered.

For example, if a group gift is being purchased for the baby (i.e. a crib or stroller), why not attach a gift certificate for the mom to be to buy new underwear after the pregancy, or a new nightie,etc.

Another thought is to wrap the little baby gifts in a pretty pair of underwear or an ice top or something for the mom.

If I ever get my children to give me grandbabies, I think this is the kind of baby shower I will plan for them.

I think the coolest baby shower would be to pamper the Mom, because the next 21 years she will be caring for this baby.

The Mom should be given comfy lounging friendly outfits, to rest in after the baby is born. Then, the mom should be given all the newborn stuff she will need, so she doesn't have to worry about going out to get anything.

She should be given take home restaurant meal certificated, so she doesn't have to worry about cooking for a while after the baby comes.

And serve plenty of Chocolate and Champagne at the baby shower!
