Themed Baby Shower Idea 1 :

A "Sports Baby Shower" is a great opportunity to get the Dads involved too. Invitations are sent out in the shape ofa baseball mitt. Each Dad is invited to bring an original "sports theme baby gift" with the suggestions being:

balls
mini basketball set
baseball glove/bat t-ball set
golf setice
skates
hockey sticks
athletic jerseys from all sports

And the option is left open for any other sports related gift suitable for a young toddler. The guys aren't overwhelmed with a lot of cutsey baby para phenalia that they could care less about!

Theme Baby Shower 2:

Baby's Essential is another concept for outfitting the Mom to Be with everything she needed.

You can put numerous themes in a pail and everyone drew a slip of paperand went with that idea. Some of the themes were:

Medical: digital thermometer, baby Tylenol, nose aspirator, VicksVapor Rub, cough syryp, a vaporizer/humidifier for nursery,etc.

Diaper zone: disposable diapers and diaper wipes,diaper ointments, training pants, change pads and diaperbag, change table.

Dishes: cups, plates, bowls, sippy cups, bottles, disposable bottle bags, bottle warmers, baby cutlery, bibs, placemats, booster seat for the table, highchair.

Car Zone: car seat, toys for the car, drop sheet forunder the car seat. And the wipes to clean the car!

Theme Baby Shower Idea 3:

We had a huge family and our DIL is having multiple showers. The one I were really looking forward to was "pampering the Mom" shower.

We've hired a masseuse, and several teenage girls to give the guests manicures and pedicures. It should be fun for all the Moms!

We've decided to chip in as a groupand buy my DIL a SPA package for: manicure, pedicure,haircut and styling, massage, steam bath, facial and reflexology treatments. Plus we are giving her IOU's for adozen home cooked meals to be delivered to her house (twice weekly for 6 weeks) for after the baby is born.

Another group of family members have made up a beautiful gift basket complete with her favourite perfumes, lotions, make-up andgift certificates to her regular hairdresser.

Pampering the Mom is a great theme for a baby shower.

Theme Baby Shower Idea 4:

If your DIL is expecting your second grandchild, plan an ABC and 123 shower. You can concentrate on books and learning toys for the baby since she already has pretty much all the baby equipment needed from the first child.

Make a baby shower cake shaped like blocks with ABC on each square. The invitations can be inscribed with ABC and invite the guests to bring either educational toys or books for the newest family member.
